Text Box: The Trip: This trip is a whole different approach to the wilderness experience. Survivor-style trips take on the flavor of the popular TV Survivor series. We start out on a day-long bike journey to Pleasant Pond, off route 6. The next day we begin out canoeing journey. Two days later we end up on the Machias watershed, where tribes come together for three days of fantastic tribal activities and challenges, which may include a map quest, Caveman Olympics, Pirates of the Caribbean, Survivor Café, and an all-night flag guard.

Length: 6 days—one full day of biking, two days of canoeing (with a few portages), and three days of friendly tribal activities and challenges.

Difficulty: This trip is designed for the more adventuresome teenager (and adults), ages 14-up. The biking is very challenging, especially for those who have not been conditioning. The days of canoeing are long, and there are a few portages as well.

Safety & Prevention: We are always within a few hours of getting out for help in the case of an emergency. We give very detailed instructions. We teach the basics of canoeing and give clear guidelines for what's expected on the river, trail, and around the campsite. We understand the great responsibility we have with your young person, and place a great emphasis on safety, prevention, and the well being of each person in the group.

Best Time to Go: We offer this outing during July-August when the weather is usually warm, and the bugs are minimal.

Ages: Teens 13 & up, Adults

Cost: $375.00 per person

Additional Costs: There are no additional costs for campers. However, campers may choose to rent equipment at a minimal cost. We also sell camp T-shirts and offer pictures on CDs at a reasonable cost.
