Text Box: Teen Leadership Program (LITs)

LIT Program Goals

It is our goal through to assist in the development of future Christian leaders not only for the wilderness adventure program, but for the local church & community. 

Spiritually
- Daily meeting for corporate prayer before the day starts.
- Participation in staff devotions & prayer time in the evening.
- Mentoring, the LITs will be mentored by an adult who will meet regularly with them for accountability & prayer. 

When in camp LITs will participate in daily chapel services.	
The LIT will receive instruction in how to prepare and lead in a devotional.
Will be encouraged to share personal testimony while on outings.

Leadership
- Learn how to over see planning, packing for and navigating trips.
- Learn to involve others in critical decision making.
- Grow in interpersonal relationship through dorm and camp life.

Wilderness Skills
- Map & Compass
- Knots and their uses
- Proficiency in paddling skills in up to class III rapids
- Introduction to Poling
- Campsite management (setup, cooking skills & implementing low impact techniques)


Housing for Summer Long LITs and Trip Leaders

The wilderness center has sleeping quarters on the second level with a separate sleeping quarter for 2 adult leaders and sleeping quarters for 8 with a full bathroom.

Shed of Submission (so named by last previous summer’s crew.) This bunkhouse is located next to our wilderness center and spaciously sleeps 4.

Bathroom Facilities: 2 showers and bathroom facilities are located on the lower level the wilderness center, A full bath is located in the upstairs dormitory room.
