Internal or External Frame Pack
Sleeping bag (packable three season compact and packable— 4lbs max!)
Packable sleeping pad (close cell foam only, or therma-rest)
Rain coat or poncho (lightweight)
2 warm synthetic pullovers, for cool weather
1 light colored long sleeve shirt or windbreaker (bugs, sun)
Wool or felt hat in case of cold or rainy weather
Boots or similar shoes— well broken in and proper fitting with good traction. 
Sandals with straps or similar (for around the campsite, swimming, wading.)
* 1 quick drying pants.  (Windpants or fatigues work well. No jeans)
2 pair cotton socks
2 pair wool socks (smart wool?)
2 underwear
2 cotton T-shirts
1 light quick drying towel
1 pair shorts
1 swim suit
Hat with visor (sun)
Insect repellant (small container)
2 bandannas
Bible
Flashlight (headlamp or mini mag size only) with extra batteries. 
2 quart size plastic water bottles
Personal toiletries: toothpaste and brush, deodorant, and small bottle of biodegradable shampoo (trial or travel size only)
Several gallon size Zip Lock bags to organize stuff in
pocket knife

Please:  No walkmans, CD players, radios or large blade knives.
