Text Box: Choosing Your Approach

Soft Adventure: For those who are looking for an outdoor experience without a physically demanding schedule, we offer numerous trip options with a more leisurely pace. Participants will not only gain a variety of outdoor living skills, but they will also have time for in camp activities such as swimming, fishing and hanging out around the campfire. This is often the preference for youth groups with kids between the ages of 10-13 years old. We recommend the following locations:

Saint Croix River
Allagash River
Moosehead Lake
West Branch Penobscot River.

More Adventuresome Approach: These types of trips offer a more active schedule. Activities may include class III rapids, back packing, bushwhacking, rock climbing and repelling, longer days paddling, and canoe routes with long portages. Although more physically demanding, these outings are not out of reach for those in good physical condition. This approach is well suited for ages 14 and up. No previous experience is required in order to attend. We recommend the following locations.

Debsconeag Chain of Lakes & Appalachian Trail Region
West Grand Lake Watershed (Survivor Style Outing)
East Branch Penobscot
Bonaventure River
NE Mistassibi River
Moisie River.
De Pas
